Ladies Inter-Club 2018 – Finals’ Day at East Devon

Wrangaton Ladies come through winners in a closely played game.

It was a chilly start at Tiverton Golf Club for the main event of the Inter-Club 2018 – Finals’ Day. Ladies from East Devon, Saunton, Fingle Glen, Wranagton, Okehampton, Ilfracombe and Torquay were competing for a host of trophies.  As with all our inter-club finals, we were set for some quality, competitive golf, played in a really friendly atmosphere.

Next on the tee was the final of the Sheelah Creasy Bowl. 28 clubs took part this year, playing divisional matches through the summer to try and win through to the final stages. Fingle Glen, who have won the Sheelah Creasy Bowl for the last 2 years, reached the final again this year – this time playing Wrangaton. It was a close fought match, the first 4 games were 2 wins apiece. It was all to play for but the Wrangaton ladies then won games 5 and 6 to secure the match win.

So our runners up this year, winning the Olwen Williams Salver were Fingle Glen, and the winners of the Sheelah Creasy Bowl for 2018 were Wrangaton.

Congratulations to all the ladies who took part in the Sheelah Creasy Bowl again making Wrangaton GC proud, playing with respect, determination and of course having lots of fun.
